Agreement

These Terms of Use govern access to the ReadMyBid website and tools. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

The service

ReadMyBid helps U.S. homeowners review residential roofing quotes. The current MVP may include a deterministic roof-cost planning range, analysis of one uploaded quote, comparison of two or three quotes, and a comparison of a revised quote against an original quote from the same session. No account or payment is required to use these tools.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding agreement and must have the legal right to upload each document you submit. The service is intended for reviewing U.S. residential roofing quotes. It is not directed at children under 13.

Informational document analysis only

Output is informational document analysis and planning assistance. It is not legal, construction, engineering, insurance, tax, or financial advice. It is not a roof inspection, contractor certification, licensing verification, exact price estimate, code-compliance determination, or a guarantee of cost, quality, legality, or construction outcome.

AI and calculator limits

Quote reports are produced with automated systems, including a third-party AI provider. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or may misinterpret document wording, including scanned, handwritten, or poorly copied files. The roof cost calculator uses fixed planning formulas and is not a contractor bid.

You must independently verify scope, contractor licensing, insurance, permits, warranties, contract terms, pricing, and actual project conditions before you hire anyone or sign anything.

Your documents

You represent that you have the right to upload each file and any optional ZIP code you submit, and that doing so does not violate another person’s rights or the law. Do not upload illegal content, malware, unnecessary sensitive information, or documents that belong to others unless you are authorized to do so.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, including by attempting to disrupt it, overload it, bypass usage limits, probe it for vulnerabilities, or extract system instructions or hidden prompts. Do not use uploaded documents or other inputs to perform prompt injection or to try to override how the analysis works.

Intellectual property

The ReadMyBid interface, software, copy, and branding are provided by the operators of the service. These terms do not transfer ownership of that material to you. You retain whatever rights you already have in documents you upload. You grant only the limited permission needed to process those documents to provide the requested analysis.

Third-party services

Analysis, hosting, and optional analytics storage rely on third-party providers, currently including OpenAI, Vercel, and—when configured—Supabase. Their availability, policies, and processing are outside ReadMyBid’s full control.

Availability and changes

The current beta is free. Each internet connection may run up to five AI analyses in any 24-hour period, shared across single-quote checks, competing-quote comparisons, and revised-quote checks. Comparing two or three competing quotes counts as one analysis. The non-AI roof cost calculator does not count toward this limit.

The service may be interrupted, rate-limited, changed, or discontinued at any time, including when an API key, host, or provider is unavailable. Features, prompts, pricing, and limits may change without notice.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. The operators of ReadMyBid do not warrant that results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any decision.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of ReadMyBid are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or procurement of substitute services, arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to ReadMyBid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which is currently zero because the MVP does not charge a fee.

No chosen court or arbitration forum

These terms do not select a governing-law jurisdiction and do not require arbitration. Rights and remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law remain available.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated by posting a revised page with a new “Last updated” date. Later use of the service is subject to the posted terms.
